County Ladies 4s Quarter and Semi Finals

Although there was a little rain early on, this year the event was able to take place and the spectators could sit out in comfort. Some games were closer than others, but one semi-final went down to the very last end. Thanks again to the usual helpers keeping the bar open and a good supply of hot drinks and cakes.

Bucks Touring Team

A very enjoyable day was had as we welcomed our visitors from Buckinghamshire. We may have to compile a quotes section given some of the comments heard recently on the green as seemingly innocent comments were misinterpreted by those around. Thank you to all the helpers and especially Dereham Football Club for providing the room and refreshments at the half way break.

The Hansell Cup Final

This match was carried over from last year and Aldiss Park were delighted to host Swaffham v Cawston on Saturday 17 May. Pictures may be found here. Congratulations to Cawston and commiserations to Swaffham. It was closely fought game carried out in the best of spirits. Thank you to Dave Gamble for preparing the green and the club members who turned out to help things run smoothly.

Safeguarding

We want our Club to be a welcoming place where everyone feels safe and comfortable.

Everyone is a part of this, not just the safeguarding officer. Do check out the pages here and the information available in the club house

to see how you can contribute and what to do if you have concerns.

Monthly Fixtures

The fixture pages can be seen here. The handbook is ready to collect at the club.

Welcome to Aldiss Park Bowls Club

Aldiss Park Bowls Club is situated on the eastern fringe of the mid-Norfolk town of Dereham.

The club sits on the same site as Dereham Town Football Club, at Aldiss Park, Norwich Road, Dereham NR20 3PX, and has a large car park.

We are a friendly, mixed, outdoor club with an excellent green. The club offers opportunities for people to take part in a variety of ways, whether it be a game, chat and cuppa at a roll-up, or whether you want to take part in one or more of the leagues or competitions. The club has teams in several local leagues, both Bowls Federation and EBA.

Roll-ups on take place most Wednesdays and Sundays at 2.00pm—members, prospective members, and non-members are always welcome. A social programme is also available.

We actively encourage beginners and coaching is available during the season. No need for your own bowls, as we can provide initially, just wear a thick pair of socks.

Don't hesitate, come along and give us a look, or for more information please contact our secretary [email protected]

Thanks to all who helped close the club down for the winter! Photos here
